Oct 9 How to spend a day at Yokohama, Japan

When in Japan, Yokohama city trip is a must.

I lived near Yokohama city so, this trip is more frequent for me on any weekends.

There are many places to visit in Yokohama.

On a Saturday..wake up, pack your bag with camera. Go to nearby station and buy a ticket for Yokohama.

Don't forget to buy your favourite drink from vending machines.

Go to Yokohama Station and buy one day pass that includes ferry ride also.

From Yokohama Station take minato mirai line and head towards Motomachi-Chukagai Station.

From there walk for 4 minutes to reach Yamashita Bay Side park.

Enjoy scenic view of sea park, go to garden, sit near fountain and just chill and relax.

After chilling on the bay, head to Chinatown which is just 500 meter away from this place.

Spend your time at Chinatown Market area, check out shops, taste street food, buy souvenir or just be in this happening place..enjoy Chinese, Korean, Thai food and culture.

After lunch, move to high class mall area, Minto mirai, Queens Square. These are high class areas and for shopping you have to spend a lot as compared to Chinatown. But you can get all world class brands here. You can also enjoy just by window shopping with your favourite drink from Starbucks..

Get a joy ride by ship from one point to other Point.

Your one day pass may include your joy rides, so check which pass to buy, at Yokohama station.

After checking out minato mirai, Landmark Tower, Queens Square etc. in the evening head for Cosmo World.

Cosmo world is an amusement park with interesting rides. It's round wheel shows you full 360 degree view of the area. Go for the ride during sunset for best view.

You must have a night-view of Yokohama Bay area.

So, walk at night around the Red brick area, Osanbashi pier, check out German style houses, shops, and have a dinner in one of best restaurants there, before returning back.

There are many more places and museums to cover, but some things are to be kept for next weekends.
